We employ more than 6,000 staff and are one of Australia’s leading academic and research health centres. Our rich history of health care spans more than 100 years.

Our services will continue to grow as we build bigger and better facilities to support the community. By 2027, we'll have more beds and more treatment spaces as part of the Princess Alexandra Hospital expansion.

Research

The hospital is a major medical research precinct, home to one of Australia’s most advanced medical research facilities, the Translational Research Institute (TRI). Our Clinical Research Facility also leads clinical trials.

We work with other research groups and are a part of the Health Translation Queensland research network. The PA Research Foundation raises money to support our vital research activities.

Nursing

Our nurses and their high standard of practice play a vital role in patient care. Joining our team can open up exciting pathways to grow and advance your career.
