Our Environmental Sustainability Plan [PDF 1079.28 KB] is sets out the ways we will reduce our impact on the environment.

At Metro South Health, we want to help keep the planet healthy for the future. When the planet is healthy, people are healthier too.

We want to be a leader in environmentally sustainable healthcare. We will do this while spending our money wisely and getting ready for the effects of climate change.

Our priorities

• Waste – creating less rubbish and recycling more
• Resources: energy and water – using less power, gas and water
• Facilities and infrastructure – making our buildings better for the planet
• Sustainable clinical care – finding environmentally friendly ways to care for patients and supporting green clinical practices
• Products and services – buying things wisely to help the planet and reduce pollution.
